In 1992, the International Association of Chemical Industry Associations decided to implement the Responsible Care Action Plan globally. At present, more than 50 countries have joined. In 2002, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association (formerly known as the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation) and the International Chemical Manufacturers Association signed a cooperation agreement to officially promote the Responsible Care Program in China.
