When selecting a gas detector, all possible conditions must be taken into consideration. If methane and other less toxic alkanes are present, selecting the LEL detector is undoubtedly the most appropriate.

It is undeniable that most of the volatile hazardous gases are combustible gases. However, the catalytic combustion combustible gas detector (LEL) is not the best choice for all flammable gas detection. It is designed specifically for the detection of methane, and its detection performance for other substances is poor. Therefore, they can detect lower concentrations of combustible gases other than methane that are much higher than their allowable concentrations.
