Lubricating Oil Dewaxing Selected in the Top Ten Progress in Petrochemical Technology

The results of the 2009 China Petroleum Top Ten Science and Technology Progress Awards were announced recently. 10 results of the industrial application of hydroisomerization, dewaxing, and production of high-grade lube base oils were jointly developed by the Dalian Institute of Chemicals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and China National Petroleum Corporation.

Lubricant base oil isomerization dewaxing catalysts and processes were successfully implemented in November 2008 in the 200,000 t/y high-pressure hydrogenation unit of PetroChina Daqing Refinery Branch, and the equipment passed industrial operation calibration in August 2009. Industrial operating data show that compared with the international advanced technology of the same kind, the yield of Class II medium base oil increases by 8 percentage points when processing 200 SN raw oil, and the yield of Class III heavy base oil increases when 650 SN raw materials are processed. Percentage. In addition, the project has also successfully developed high-grade food grade PS white oil new products and a new 5cst III base oil new process for the production of 5W/40 multi-grade high-grade lubricants. Up to now, the 200,000-ton/year high-pressure hydrogenation unit has processed over 100,000 tons of raw material oil and produced nearly 90,000 tons of high-grade lubricant base oil.

It is reported that after ten years of research and development of the process, the project team has successfully developed a number of new molecular sieve materials and achieved breakthroughs in industrial preparation technologies. It has developed a new isomerization dewaxing catalyst PIC802 with high activity and high yield of heavy base oil. A total of 9 patents were granted.
