The space charge measuring device is the scientific research achievement of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, "Numerical Simulation and Application Research of Space Charge Transport in Polymer Nanocomposite Media" undertaken by Shanghai Jiaotong University, for evaluating 500kV grade power cable insulation and other coaxial insulation. The space charge distribution inside the structural power equipment can provide technical support for the ultra-high voltage transmission in the construction of smart grid.
As the device is the innovative result of the project, the high-voltage and high-current measurement innovation team of Shanghai Metrology and Testing Technology Research Institute has communicated with the R&D personnel of the Jiaotong University project team after receiving the commissioned task. Starting from the measurement principle of the device, we will deeply understand the working characteristics based on the electroacoustic pulse method; refer to the relevant IEC standards and domestic standards, determine the parameters and corresponding methods for the required measurement; formulate a unique test plan and successfully complete it on site. The inspection work was well received by the Jiaotong project team.
