Hardness tester nine categories

Hardness means that the material resists the ability of a hard object to press into its surface. It is one of the important performance indicators of metal materials. The higher the hardness in general, the better the abrasion resistance. Durometer, as the name implies, is an instrument for measuring the hardness of an object.

The hardness unit of the measured object according to the hardness meter is roughly classified into the following nine types:

1. Leeb Hardness Tester: In 1978, Dr. Leeb of Switzerland presented a new method of hard testing for the first time. It is mainly used to measure the Leeb hardness value of large or unsuitable items.

2. Rockwell hardness tester: The world's first hardness tester based on Rockwell hardness test principle, mainly used for the measurement of Rockwell hardness of cast iron and other workpieces.

3. Brinell hardness tester: The only portable hardness tester in the world that uses 3000kg test force and 10mm ball standard Brinell test conditions. It is mainly used to measure the Brinell hardness of workpieces with high hardness.

4. Shore hardness tester: It is the oldest, most widely used and most convenient rubber hardness measurement method. It is mainly used for measuring Shore hardness value of rubber products.

5. Shore Hardness Tester: proposed by British schol. ( Albert FS hore), using elastic rebound test. It is mainly used to determine the Shore hardness value of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

6. The Brinell hardness tester: produced by Barber-Colman, USA. It is mainly used to measure the Barcol hardness of FRP products.

7. Mohs Hardness Tester: In 1822, it was proposed by German mineralogist Friedek Mohs. Ten minerals are used as the standard, which is mainly used to measure the Mohs hardness value of mineral products.

8. Vickers Hardness Tester: In 1925, it was jointly proposed by RLSmit and CE Sandland, and was trial-produced by Vickers-Armstrong in the United Kingdom. Mainly used for the measurement of Vickers hardness values of thin workpieces.

9. Microhardness tester: It is composed of the host of hardness tester and micrometer eyepiece and related accessories. It is mainly used for the measurement of Vickers hardness value of very thin workpieces.
